When I met up with Sharon and Gary in their home town of Brighton we started with a whistle-stop tour of the sites. Then over coffee we chatted about where we were going to shoot. We decided against the more obvious places like the Palace Pier, the Royal Pavilion and the fairground and instead headed to the beach via one of the crescents lined with the distinctive, elegant buildings that shout Brighton, taking a few shots along the way.
I particularly liked the wonderful Grade 1-listed West Pier, now a twisted shell of it’s former self after being destroyed by fires and storms, it’s such an iconic and imposing structure.
And I’ve aways had a soft spot for a shingle beach and we were lucky enough to pretty much have this one to ourselves bar the odd seagull… bliss!
