As you’ll see from the photos Vic and David were a lot of fun to be with. They came down from Finchley in London and stayed at the Forest Park Hotel which is beautifully situated on the edge of the New Forest in Brockenhurst. They hadn’t visited the New Forest before so we spent a bit of time together exploring a variety of possible locations for our shoot. I soon realised on our short drive through the forest that although the landscape initially seems quite similar there are so many different areas and each has it’s own unique character. This gave us a good choice of backgrounds to work with. Their timing was perfect too as the forest is beautiful at this time of year with the late spring colours at their peak.
The shoot went smoothly except for when I unwittingly knelt on a rather unfriendly adder! I suppose I should consider myself lucky as spotting an adder is incredibly rare, let alone having one bite you!! My knee swelled up to the size of a tennis ball and I’m pleased to say it is now going back down… although a bit too slowly for my liking. However one must suffer for their art!!
Thank you both for making the effort to come down from the smoke and I hope you enjoyed your weekend in Hampshire. I’m really looking forward to meeting up with you again at Brockworth Court Tithe Barn in August for the wedding – I can already feel it’s going to be a lot of fun…
