Iian and Nikki live in my hometown of Wimborne and as Nikki was getting ready at her parents house, I literally only had to pop up the road to photograph the wedding preparations.
While Nikki’s mum made some last minute alterations to Nikki’s wedding belt, the bridesmaids helped Nikki to dress and she returned the favour. It was a great start to what I could tell was going to be a lovely day.
The ceremony took place a few miles down the road at Poole Registery Office, an elegant building which sports a pair of sweeping staircases either side, leading up to the front entrance.
Flowers played a significant part in this wedding! The bridesmaids wore bold, fresh floral garlands in their hair to match Nikki’s bouquet. The aisle of the registry office was lined with small silver milk churns filled with gypsophila and Iian carried two small bunches of gerberas simply wrapped in brown paper and tied with twine, gifts for Nikki from him and his young son. The one from him had ‘sexy’ written on it and the other ‘with love from Finney’.
After the ceremony the wedding party walked en masse through the streets of Poole to ‘The Stable’, a cosy crafted cider and pizza restaurant on the Quay, where the wedding breakfast took place. And to continue the floral theme the doorway to the venue was decorated with flowers that again complimented Nikki’s bouquet… they looked and smelt gorgeous!
