It was a misty October morning when I arrived at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire to photograph Kelly and Ian’s wedding. It’s easy to see why it’s such a popular choice for weddings with it’s Grade One listed classical country house set in beautiful parkland inspired by Capability Brown. The whole feel is elegant and romantic.
Kelly got ready in one of the luxuriously spacious bedrooms, complete with a stunning four-poster bed. The three flower girls loved the whole process of getting ready and many twirls were performed in front of the mirror! It was a lovely relaxed feel to the start of the day with champagne to settle any pre-wedding nerves.
A pair of white Rolls-Royces drove Ian, Kelly and the wedding party to and from St Mary’s Catholic Church in Cheshunt for the ceremony.
Once back at Brocket Hall there was time for a game of croquet and a glass of champagne on the lawn before sitting down to the wedding breakfast in the magnificent Regency Hall. The place settings were understated and simple, but perfect – a single pale pink gerbera for everyone except the bride and groom who had pale pink roses to match Kelly’s bouquet. The cake was equally lovely, five layers, beautifully decorated in soft, pastel colours. All-in-all it really was a very elegant wedding.
