The first thing I noticed about Michelle and David’s wedding was the colours… a sea of hot pink, orange, red, and gold. In the traditional style of a Nigerian wedding the couple had selected a colour scheme to run through everything from the bridesmaids’ dresses, the cake, the flowers, even the guests’ outfits including the wonderful Geles (the traditional Nigerian head wraps worn by the women). Even the groom, his best man and the ushers’ socks were colour-coordinated! It was a fabulous backdrop for Michelle’s elegant, strapless white gown.
The couple literally danced their way out of the church after the ceremony as their guests sang, danced and clapped along with them. This set the party atmosphere for the rest of the day which continued at their reception in the stunning medieval Great Hall at Eltham Palace.
And the dancing didn’t stop there! Michelle changed into a short 50’s style dress for her first dance with David and then there was an amazing dance off between the bride and her bridesmaids and the groom and his ushers. They had both put together incredible dance routines that entertained the guests and got everyone in the mood for dancing.
Michelle and David then both changed into traditional Nigerian dress in bright orange and gold and continued to dance the night away. What a great wedding!
