A reportage photographer with an established reputation in portraiture and landscape, Brent began his career working in the Dorset landscape. His early projects included 'War on the Landscape'- an in depth study of the military impact on the Dorset countryside and 'Working Out', an ongoing study of manual labour in Britain at the beginning of the 21st century.

Always driven by documenting people and places as they really are, he became interested in weddings and the stories they have to tell after a friend asked him to cover her marriage at short notice.

Brent's own contemporary wedding service reflects his documentary roots.

The bulk of his current work is focused on portraiture and social documentaries such as 'Centenarians', a project capturing lives that have spanned most of the 20th century and 'Olympic Gold', his recent series of portraits of surviving British Olympic gold medallists. Brent himself ran for Great Britain in cross - country and marathon in his younger days and has lived and worked in Dorset for over 20 years.
